SPF, which stands for Sender Policy Framework, is an e-mail protection system, which is is intended to verify whether an e-mail message was sent by an official server. Using SPF protection for a given domain will prevent the faking of emails generated with the domain. In layman's terms: activating this attribute for a domain generates a particular record in the Domain Name System (DNS) which contains the IP addresses of the servers which are permitted to send emails from mail boxes under the domain. Once this record propagates worldwide, it will exist on all the DNS servers that direct the Internet traffic. Whenever some email message is sent, the first DNS server it uses verifies whether it originates from an authorized server. When it does, it is sent to the destination address, but if it doesn't come from a server listed in the SPF record for the particular domain, it is rejected. Thus nobody will mask an e-mail address and make it look as if you're sending spam messages. This approach is also termed email spoofing.

SPF Protection in Shared Website Hosting

The SPF protection option is provided as standard with each shared website hosting plan that we supply and you will be able to use it without any difficulty so that you can protect the e-mails for any domain name hosted in your account. The service is handled through the Emails section of our cutting-edge, and easy-to-use Hepsia Control Panel. All you need to activate the protection is to type the IP address of the e-mail server and its hostname - mail.server.com, for instance. As soon as the protection is activated, only this server will be able to send email messages from emails made under the domain that you have selected. Your e-mail addresses can be taken care of by a different provider, but when we manage them in addition to your web site, you may also enable an option for emails to be sent only if the domain features our MX records. This selection provides you with better security as only our server will be approved to send email messages from your mailboxes and you'll have improved control. If you have any questions or in case you experience any kind of difficulties with this service, you will be able to contact our tech support team anytime and they'll help you in a timely manner.
